31 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 31 Weeks

Size of baby: Little one is around 3.3 pounds and over 16 inches head to heel, about the size (weight) of 4 navel oranges.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained about 27 pounds.

Maternity Clothes:  I am pretty much wearing all maternity clothes.  I don't have a ton of them so that is why you see them all repeated on here. I have finally found a couple of pairs of shorts that will suffice.  What is up with the trend of everything being cuffed?  I am not a fan...  I am loving dresses right now and have some non-maternity dresses and some maternity dresses of my own and a few on loan.  So comfy!

Gender:  It's a girl!  Mary Isabelle (see this post about her name)

Movement:  At my appointment this week, Mary was doing well and the doctor seemed pretty certain that she has flipped back over to a head-down (vertex) position.  You can watch my abdomen shift around when she's busy... and she's busy a lot these days!  She gets the hiccups 2-3 times a day.  They are very light-feeling but they are good because that means she's swallowing okay and practicing her breathing.

Sleep: Both of my hips are sore when I sleep on either side for more than a few hours.  I have found a new way to prop/tilt myself on my pillows so I am tricking myself into thinking I am sleeping on my back a bit even though I am tilted to the left. It worked for awhile but it's getting harder to stay comfortable for long.

What I miss:  Sleeping on my back.  I cannot wait to lay flat again!

Cravings:  I am still enjoying fresh fruit and I love that I have access to it daily in the dining hall.  I'll be sad about that when school is out in 3 weeks.  No more free meals until August!

Symptoms:  My heartburn is still there.  I've had to go back to taking the Zantac every day along with some Tums.  I am having a few Braxton Hicks from time to time and I have some swelling at the base of my ankles and feet that seems to come and go with the heat and my activity level. My SI joint pain (low back) is flaring up from time to time and the doctor I saw about it recommended a SI support belt.  I got fitted for one and I am already in love.  I plan to really test it out on Monday when I am back to work.

30 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 30 Weeks

Size of baby: Little one is around 3pounds and 15 3/4 inches head to heel, about the size (weight) of a head of cabbage.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained about 25 pounds.

Maternity Clothes:  I am pretty much wearing all maternity clothes.  I don't have a ton of them so that is why you see them all repeated on here. It's been so warm I am realizing I am in need of some more capris and probably a couple of pairs of shorts.  I am loving dresses right now and have some non-maternity dresses and some maternity dresses of my own and a few on loan.  So comfy!

Gender:  It's a girl!  Mary Isabelle (see this post about her name)

Movement:I think she may have flipped back over because those hard kicks are coming back!  She's rolling a lot and gets the hiccups at least twice a day.

Sleep: Both of my hips are sore when I sleep on either side for more than a few hours.  I have found a new way to prop/tilt myself on my pillows so I am tricking myself into thinking I am sleeping on my back a bit even though I am tilted to the left.  I am sleeping much better that way and I hope I can do this for awhile.

What I miss:  Sleeping on my back.  I cannot wait to lay flat again!

Cravings:  I am still loving fresh fruit right now- apples, pears, oranges, bananas, melon, and cucumbers.  Ice cream and frozen yogurt have sounded good too since it's almost like summer outside.  I still love Mexican food but I find I can space my cravings out a little further than I used to.

Symptoms:  My heartburn is still there.  I've had to go back to taking the Zantac every day along with some Tums.  I am having a few Braxton Hicks from time to time and I have some swelling at the base of my ankles that seems to come and go with the heat and my activity level.  It'll all be worth it in the end!

29 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 29 Weeks  (this is a terrible picture but Friday was a busy day and it's the only one I took.  The dress makes me look huge- Jay calls me a blueberry when I wear it!)

Size of baby: Little one is around 2 1/2pounds and 15.2 inches head to heel, about the size (weight) of a butternut squash.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained about 25 pounds.
Maternity Clothes:  I am pretty much wearing all maternity clothes.  I don't have a ton of them so that is why you see them all repeated on here. Gender:  It's a girl!  Mary Isabelle (see this post about her name)

Movement: I am not feeling as many of those hard kicks but I am starting to feel and see lots of rolling movements.  She did a somersault earlier last week and turned herself upside down (breech!).  I think she may have turned back over but it's hard to tell.

28 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 28 Weeks

Size of baby: Little one is around 2 1/4pounds and 14.8 inches head to heel, about the size (weight) of a head of Chinese cabbage.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained about 18 pounds.  (I'll have a new update on that, *gulp,* next week.)

Movement: Now that her little bones and muscles are more developed, she is quite the kicker!  I'm sure she is punching some, too.  I can feel a lot of her movements on the outside now and I can see my belly move from most of her stronger kicks.  She is rolling all over the place, too.  I can sometimes actually feel her little tiny hiney and back depending on where she is sitting.  Today, in particular, she has been awake and active most of the day!

Cravings:  I am still loving fresh fruit right now- apples, pears, oranges, bananas, melon, and cucumbers.  Ice cream and frozen yogurt have sounded good too since it's almost like summer outside.

Symptoms:  My heartburn is still there.  I've still been able to cut back on the zantac.  I am having a few Braxton Hicks from time to time and I have some swelling at the base of my ankles that seems to come and go with the heat and my activity level.  It'll all be worth it in the end!

*Check out all of the clothes we've gotten so far: I have washed 2 loads so far, including a few blankets.  I don't think I'll have to buy her one stitch of clothing!  Mary Isabelle is one blessed little girl!

baby shower sneak peek.

we went to tn last weekend for my first baby shower.  my sweet friends and family hosted the shower and it was wonderful!  we received so many things that we need and are so blessed!  my cousin angel surprised me and was able to come and take pictures of the shower, however, becca and i snapped a few...

27 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 27 Weeks

Size of baby: Little one is around 2 pounds and 14 1/2inches head to heel, about the size (weight) of a head of cauliflower.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained about 18 pounds.

Maternity Clothes:  I am loving my maternity pants and my tops are a mix of both. It's been so warm I am realizing I am in need of some more capris and probably a couple of pairs of shorts.  I got a few dresses on loan from a sweet friend which will help me stay cooler this summer.

Gender:  It's a girl!  Mary Isabelle (see this post about her name)

Movement: Now that her little bones and muscles are more developed, she is quite the kicker!  I'm sure she is punching some, too.  I can feel a lot of her movements on the outside now and I can see my belly move from some of her stronger kicks.  She is rolling all over the place, too.  I can sometimes actually feel her little tiny hiney and back depending on where she is sitting.

Symptoms:  My heartburn is still there.  I've still been able to cut back on the zantac.  I am having a few Braxton Hicks from time to time and the swelling comes and goes with the heat and my activity level.  My right lower back muscles are quite sore (old "injury") so I am trying to wear proper shoes and stretching well.  It'll all be worth it in the end!
